There's a new bakery that's opening in Rockford that 's created to help give others a second chance in life.

WIFR shares that Sherry Camp, the owner of this new bakery, has one goal in mind for opening this business and it's that "of helping women get back on their feet after a traumatic experience."

She said that "As a survivor myself I know that gaining employment coming from recovery homes or other places that you live and your homeless that is the biggest reason we go back and we fail.”

This is why she is opening this bakery "for anyone in need of the skills to have a full-time paying job."

The bakery will be opening soon at the corners of Mulberry and Church in downtown Rockford. If anyone is interested in giving them donations as they begin this journey of restoring lives of many women here in our city you are welcome to drop them off at the bakery itself.

I think this is such a great idea. Helping those triumph over the tragedy but not letting that define them. Giving them a purpose and skill to get back out there and prove to all including themselves that their lives matter and will continue to make a difference in the world around them.
