Mysterious ‘Flying Winged Humanoid’ Spotted Again in Illinois

The legend of the Illinois Mothman, a mysterious, flying winged humanoid, has once again taken flight with a new report of the creature being spotted near Chicago.

Who Is Mothman?

Seeing a large man with wings and glowing red eyes flying through the sky in Illinois may seem completely unbelievable to most people, many eyewitness accounts of a creature like this have surfaced throughout the years.

Legends says Mothman is a bringer of doom, and that when he is spotted it means bad things like natural disasters, plane crashes, etc. are coming, which is particularly disturbing because many Mothman sightings occur near O'Hare International Airport.

Mothman Sightings in Illinois

In June of 2022 a woman reported seeing and hearing a "screeching bat-winged humanoid" at  Fork Kent Creek, near Auburn Street in Rockford, Illinois, and fast forward to June 2024 the creature was spotted again, but this time not in Rockford.

According to the website Phantoms & Monsters, a witness was stopped at a red light at Bode and Barrington Road in Hoffman Estates, Illinois when they saw;

 a large animal or human-like being with wings flying in a straight line at a height of about 150 meters or less. I managed to look at the part of its face. I followed its flight as I looked out the windows to my right, then left. I continued to watch it in my rearview mirror and watched it disappear into a grove of trees in the park.

The witness also said that they originally thought it was a flying horse due to its long legs, but after watching 'The Mothman Revisited' documentary on Unsolved Mysteries they knew "without a doubt" that it was Mothman.

While there's no concrete evidence to prove the existence of the Illinois or Chicago Mothman, the legend continues to captivate the imaginations of locals and visitors. Do you think the reports are legit? I'm still can't decide.
