Shortly before the year anniversary of Officer Jaimie Cox's death, a 5K run/walk will take place in Roscoe, and participants will be surrounded in what Jaimie loved most, the beauty of nature.

Details are still in the works, but the date is set, so mark Saturday,  October 20th on your calendar right now.

The event posted by the Jaimie Cox Memorial Page on Facebook says;

Enjoy a 5K Jaimie's way! Our nature based 5k will begin at Roscoe Middle School*. The route proceeds west to the historic Stone Bridge Trail, turns north and pounds the pea gravel of the Stone Bridge Trail to Roscoe's wooded recreation path that travels west while winding along the peaceful Kinnikinnick Creek. You will reach the halfway point, turn around and return to RMS.

*Location pending permit approval*

Much more information to follow.

The cost to participate has not been posted yet, but it does say the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on October 20th. As soon as registration open and more information is released, we will be sure to let you know.

Couch to 5K App, here we come...training must begin now.
