Attention Illinois Shoppers: Recalled Delicate Detergent May Contain Harmful Bacteria
A popular brand of delicate detergent sold on Amazon has been recalled due to harmful bacterial contamination concerns.
Laundry Detergent Choices
I know most people think I'm weird, but I actually enjoy doing laundry primarily because the smell of freshly laundered clothes is one of my favorites scents in the world. I'm also pretty particular about what laundry detergent I use, and it's one of the only products that I won't buy generic or simply what's on sale.
Both of my daughters have pretty sensitive skin, so when I saw that a popular delicate detergent brand has been recalled over bacteria concerns, I was immediately concerned.
National Recall Issued for Woolite Delicates Detergent
It might seem ironic that a soap is being recalled for bacteria, but that is exactly what's happening here.
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission; over 60,000 50 ounce fluid bottles of Woolite Delicates have been recalled due to possible containing;
Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas oleovorans, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. People with weakened immune systems or external medical devices who are exposed to the bacteria face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment.
The recalled bottles of detergent were sold exclusively on Amazon in January 2025 and have the SKU 62338-72724 with lot codes S24364, S24365 and S24366.
If you have Woolite Delicates in your Amazon Subscribe and Save, you better check the labels and stop using it immediately if you have one of the bottles.
To receive a refund just write RECALLED on the back of the detergent bottle, take a picture with the UPC and lot code showing, and then email the photo to ConsumerCare_USA@reckitt.com.
Here's the most important thing to remember; if you have a recalled product in your home do NOT pour it out in the drain, just tighten the cap and throw the bottle in your regular trash as is. (NOT your recycle bin).
