It's okay to hold a garage sale in Machesney Park.

I know a lot of people who enjoy going to garage sales. My Mom usually does all the time. I've even hit some here and there.

In the last couple of weekends, we've had some nice weather in our area. As I drove through town, I've noticed a few garage sales popping up. I wondered to myself if they were actually allowed right now considering all the restrictions.

Well, in at least one community nearby has announced it's okay.

According to the Village of Machesney Park, Illinois Facebook page...

"Good Morning Machesney Park. We have received several phone calls asking about the process for Garage Sales during the pandemic. The Village is permitting Garage Sales, but no neighborhood sales, block sales, or side by side (next door) Garage Sales. Be safe and have a good summer."

I would say it's a safe bet that it's fine all around us, but just call to double-check before you have one. Also, make sure you're doing it in a safe manner.
