Yesterday I had the opportunity to speak to a group of amazing women about gratitude; I pointed out that it seems like the only time we're able to express our gratitude is during the month of November, you know, when we're participating in the "30 Days of Giving Thanks" on Facebook?

Why is it so easy to show gratitude for those 30 days, but it's so hard the other 335 days out of the year? Because it just is. Being grateful is hard because we're simply hardwired to focus on the negative. Hey, negativity, the one thing people have no problem expressing on Facebook every day of the year; especially over the last couple of days.

Just because we're hardwired to focus on the negative doesn't mean we have to. Which is why I'm so grateful for those who are stepping up to do all they can to support our men in women blue after Rockford police officer, Jaimie Cox, was killed in the line of duty a few days ago.

One of those people is Kate Moore. Kate is a massage therapist at B. Alms Salon inside Peak Sports Club on Perryville and she's offering free massage services to local police officers.

All Kate asks is:

  1. You must be an active Rockford Police Officer
  2. Must show proof of current employment
  3. Must mention the Jaimie Cox/RPD massage when booking your appointment
  4. Must book with Kate
  5. Offer valid through the month of November

Please share with anyone you know who's an active member of the RPD, the certainly deserve the stress relief.

Thank you for your kindness, Kate.
