I don't know if you've ever been to the Holiday Light Show at  Rotary Botanical Gardens in Janesville before, but I do know this; it is absolutely breathtaking.

My family went to the show for the first time two years ago, and it has since become one of our favorite holiday traditions, as it is for THOUSANDS of other Stateline-area families.

So, when you hear "thousands of families" you automatically envision big crowds which are a big no-no in 2020, right? You aren't wrong there, but despite the massive crowds is draws every year, Janesville's Rotary Botanical Gardens WILL still be hosting their Holiday Light Show this year, and they are promising it will be bigger than ever with over one million lights!

Obviously when you host a beloved event that draws big crowds, you have to rethink how things will operate during a pandemic. Rotary Botanical Gardens promises extra safety precautions will be in place this year, and it looks like tickets will need to be purchased in advance at rbgholidaylightshow.com.

Tickets are not on sale yet, but I can tell you the lights will officially go on November 27th AND they will have expanded hours to see them this year.

Here's the schedule for 2020:

  • November 27-29, December 3-6, 10-13, 17-23, and 26-30 from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Admission is $10 per person 13 years and older, $5 for kids ages 3-12, (2 and under are free).

Keep a close eye on rbgholidaylightshow.com for when tickets officially go on sale, and for a full list of COVID-19 precautions coming soon.
