If Buc-ee’s Came To Rockford, Where Should It Be Built?
After news dropped that Wisconsin is getting their very first Buc-ee's location, Illinois is feeling kinda left out! When's it our turn?!
"It's official! The City of Oak Creek Common Council approved plans for Wisconsin's first Buc-ee's at a meeting Tuesday night (5/20), according to news from wisn.com." [Steve Shannon]
Wisconsin already has a ton of Kwik Trip locations, over 500 actually! They make up 57% of Kwik Trip's total locations around the United States. Like they needed a Buc-ee's, am I right?

Buc-ee's is a massive truck stop, not just a regular gas station. The Wisconsin location will be a 73,370-square-foot travel center with 120 gas pumps. That means they need a lot of room to work with. Illinois has a ton of land, it should be easy to find a spot to plant it, yeah?
Rockfordians think if Buc-ee's added a location in the Rockford area, it would do well in these spots. Some are realistic responses, others are just having fun with it.
If Buc-ee’s Came To Rockford, Where Should It Be Built?
The #1 mentioned was the land where the former Rockford Speedway was at. That might not be a great location considering it's a huge truck stop!
- Right off i90 and 173 in the open fields
- where the Chrysler Plant is
- Near the Hard Rock Casino
- Off 90 at the Machesney Park/Rock Cut State Park exit
- Across from the Kwik Star in South Beloit
- South side of Winnebago corners
- Exit 1 or 3 off 90 (South Beloit or Rockton)
- Machesney Park Mall
- Cherryvale Mall location
It's very unlikely we will ever see a Buc-ee's pop up in Rockford, but we can only dream. If we did get one, where do you think it would thrive the most?
