Dixon Driver Clocked At 121 MPH On Route 2
There are plenty of streets and roads in the Rockford area where people speed and sometimes get caught.
I didn't think I'd see someone breaking the law on a road that, at times, can be as dangerous as any other in the area.

121 in a 55: Extreme Speeding Incident Shocks Ogle County
Route 2 is a rather well-traveled road connecting towns like Rockford, Byron, Oregon, and Dixon. Drivers will, from time to time, speed on Route 2, but I have never heard someone doing this: 121 in a 55.
You read that right: 121 mph in a 55 mph zone. The Ogle County Sheriff's Office says deputies pulled over Laura Wheeler, 40, from Dixon just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.

Route 2 Traffic Stop: Dixon Driver Caught Going 66 MPH Over Limit
Authorities say Wheeler was traveling 66 mph over the speed limit at the 7000 block of South Illinois Route 2 and also crossed a double-yellow line in a no-passing zone. This is just south of a stretch of Route 2 that can be considered rather tricky to handle.
She was cited for excessive speeding and disobeying a double-yellow no-passing zone, and released at the scene with a notice to appear in court.
I can only think of a handful of reasons why you'd need to drive that fast, like an emergency hospital type situation or a trip to the bathroom that can't be delayed any longer. What other reasons can you think of for going 121 mph?
