Shoutout to this older gentleman at a Rockford Goodwill for holding the door open for me when he could barely even walk.

With the world we live in nowadays, you don't see many people doing good deeds out of the kindness of their own heart.  Most people are always looking for something in return for a favor or sweet gesture, but when you meet someone who is genuinely happy to help you out it's a beautiful thing.

Ever since the days we had to stay six feet apart from everyone to protect ourselves from getting Covid, the world has really changed.  My mindset has definitely changed when I go run errands, interact with people, and I think I am more compassionate and patient with people now.

There is so much negativity in the world, but I try my hardest to be really nice every day just like this man I ran into at Goodwill.

To whoever's dad, grandpa, husband, brother, and uncle I ran into the other day, please tell him I appreciate his selfless act of kindness.

Illinois Man Who Held The Door For Me Proves Chivalry Still Exists

I go thrifting and spend a lot of time at Goodwill, Salvation Army, and local thrift stores in Rockford.  Yesterday, I hit up the Goodwill on East State Street.  When I got to the door an older gentleman, who could barely even walk, was leaving the store.  He looked at me, held the door open, and I said thank you very much.

To be completely honest, I don't remember the last time someone held the door for me.  I don't expect anyone to do anything for me on this Earth because I am perfectly capable of doing everything myself, but this was such a sweet, selfless act.  A man who could barely stand, who should've been focusing on getting to his vehicle, made sure I got in the building safely.  I love how chivalry isn't dead.  Gives me hope!

Sure, it sounds like just a normal day for most people, but you only really hear about people complaining rather than sharing a positive moment they had.  So, why not spread a little joy today?

Happy National Good Samaritan Day.  Do something out of the kindness of your heart and don't film it for TikTok, please.  I am begging.
