LAST DAY! Bakery With Amazing Sweets Is Closing Rochester, Minnesota Store

The end of the year always tends to bring news of big changes to businesses in Minnesota.  Just the other day, news broke that The Well Dining in downtown Rochester, Minnesota closed.  Now, a bakery that Rochester has grown to love is closing in town as well.

Delicious Bakery is Closing Downtown Rochester, Minnesota Location

Way back in June 2020, a delicious bakery opened up in a shared space with Pasquale's at 1219 2nd Street SW in Rochester, Minnesota.  A few months later, Sweet House Bakery let its fans know that it was taking over the entire spot and doing a little bit of a remodel.

Fast forward to August of this year and Sweet House Bakery announced to its fans that another expansion was in the works.  Sweet House Bakery was opening up a new spot called Darlin' in Stewartville.  This was more than just an expansion though, it was a move that was meant to be.  If you missed why, read that initial announcement by Sweet House Bakery...you'll see.

Although in that original announcement, the following was said, "Don't worry ROCHESTER, we will be keeping our downtown location as well", that news has since changed.

A few days ago, Sweet House Bakery posted an update.

📣 We’re officially moving!!

 

Many of you may know that we are taking over my families old restaurant location in Stewartville this January. Unfortunately construction has caused a few hiccups as it often does, and a final opening date is not yet set in stone.

 

Though we are very excited to start our next adventure in our home town, it is with a heavy heart to announce that we will be closing our Rochester location with our last day being Saturday, December 30th at end of business day. With staffing, lack of parking and rental costs, we feel this is the right move for us. Though we will only be 12 miles south, we know not all will make it out our way & will definitely miss our walk in customers and travelers who have helped make our business the success it is today, but look forward to serving our regular customers and new small town community!
To help accommodate this change and continue serving our Rochester residents, will be offering deliveries twice a week and longer hours in store. We hope to still see you all at our new location in 2024!!

If you are wanting to grab one more sweet treat at Sweet House Bakery's Rochester location, you'd better hurry.  The last chance to stop in at their location near St. Mary's is Saturday, December 30th, 2023.
