The baggage claim area at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago is not where you would expect to witness a wild brawl. However, that's exactly what happened late Monday night.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, a group of people can be seen grappling with each other.

Chicago O'Hare Brawl

The chaotic scene included two pairs of women who were rolling on the floor violently pulling at each other's hair and throwing punches. Two men were also seen fighting and ending up on the carousel itself, with others joining in the fight. One of them was punched on the luggage belt, causing his hat to fly off before he was kicked in the face.

The video captures a truly wild moment, and it's hard to believe it happened at an airport. After the brawl, a man and woman were charged with battery.

When The Fight Began

The altercation began on the airplane but quickly escalated once passengers disembarked and entered the terminal.

A group of both men and women were captured on video violently exchanging blows. A particular scene depicted a woman being viciously pulled to the ground by her hair, surrounded by two others - one of whom was barefoot - while travel pillows and personal belongings lay scattered around them.

Spectators nearby were frantically calling for security and begging the assailants to cease their fighting. The chaotic scene also showed one woman attempting to hit another with her shoe but was soon punched in the face by a man, causing her to fall to the ground.

Individuals Being Charged

The footage ended with one of the women, with red hair, managing to stand up from the fight and walking away. Afterward, the Chicago Police released a statement confirming that two individuals were apprehended and charged with involvement in the violent brawl.

Two individuals, Christopher Hampton, aged 18, from Maywood, Illinois, and Tembra Hicks, aged 20, from Carol Stream, Illinois, have been accused of battery after a violent altercation, which remains unclear what caused it. It is unknown which flight the group was on before the incident occurred, but the O'Hare International Airport has confirmed that two people, a man, and a woman, were arrested and charged following the brawl.

In a statement, the Chicago Police stated that the conflict began as a verbal disagreement when passengers were exiting the plane and quickly escalated into violence in Terminal 3's lower level. Two perpetrators were arrested and charged accordingly after the victim, a 24-year-old woman, was punched by both.

The Airport Makes A Statement

A statement from O'Hare International Airport said: 'Safety and security are always the top priorities of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA).

'We work closely with all of our federal partners present at O'Hare and Midway International Airports and the Chicago Police Department to ensure that everyone is safe when they are in our facilities.

'The CDA also ensures that its airline partners have clear lines of communication to public safety resources for occurrences within their leased areas.'
