If you ask just about anyone which store has the least expensive groceries, you'll get the same answer. That grocery store chain has just added 3 new locations for a total of 97 stores in Missouri now.

I've done some new digging and the reigning champion of cheapest grocery stores remains the same. Tasting Table, Delish and US News and World Report who have done the most recent surveys are in unanimous agreement.

What is America's cheapest grocery chain?

It's Aldi.

As we shared just 5 months ago, Aldi had 94 stores in Missouri at the time, but they've grown since then. Now, the official Aldi store locations page shows 97 locations total in Missouri. One of the newest was this one. It looked like this a few months ago.

Just a couple months later, this Missouri Aldi was already open for business.

One of the sources for the cheapest grocery stores in America survey US News and World Report says that an incredible 90% of those they surveyed named Aldi as offering the most value for the money.

The official Aldi site shows over 2,300 locations across America and it appears that Missouri is one of their biggest growth markets. If we check back in 5 more months, I wonder how many Aldi stores there will be in the Show Me State? I wouldn't be surprised if they pass the 100 mark before 2024 is done. As more and more families try to save every dollar they can, you'd have to think that chains like Aldi will continue to thrive.
