The 1 Disturbing Illinois Crime Trend No One Wants to Talk About

You hear a lot about many types of crime in Illinois, but this is one trend it seems few want to actually discuss. The Land of Lincoln is seeing a disturbing rise in one category in particular that should never happen.

There are many interesting Illinois crime statistics that were recently shared by Get Safe and Sound. Yes, there are some Chicago-specific problems they also shared, but I'd like to focus on one that affects every family in Illinois at some level and it's this one.

What has happened to our society where there is a 20% jump in violence within families? The fact that Chicago has a skyrocketing rise in domestic violence-related shootings is another problem entirely that I don't even know how to address.

I've heard it said that a man stops being a man the moment he raises his hand to hurt a woman and I don't disagree. However, many do not know (or choose not to think about) the fact that men can suffer at the hands of domestic violence, too. Over 750,000 men are reportedly injured by companions every single year.

Trying to get a grasp on exactly what's causing the rise of domestic violence cases in Illinois, is it a suffering economy causing more money and relationship strife or is it simply that evil is on the rise. I wonder if both are a factor.

No matter what you want to blame the cause on, domestic violence in Illinois really does need to be dealt with. How is a much harder question.
