20 Illinois Restaurants Have Closed Their Doors Forever in 2024
Businesses come and go all the time, but the number of restaurants in particular in Illinois that have already closed this year are staggering. The current count that I can find confirms that at least 20 have put "We are Closed" signs on their doors in 2024 with no plans to reopen.
2024 has been a challenge for many brick and mortar businesses in Illinois, but none more so than restaurants. Here are the most recent closings of eateries in the Land of Lincoln. This list is sadly only the tip of the iceberg as even more are reportedly struggling to stay open.
Let's start with fast food. KFVS reported that two Hardee's in southern Illinois closed recently.
