Chicago is on the list with places like Mackinac Island in Michigan, the Badlands National Park, Mustang Island in Texas, and San Deigo. Now I am biased because I am from Chicago and lived there for years but this is absolutely a perfect place to visit in September. Chicago is massive, but it is a walking city, whether you are downtown, in the parks, by the lakefront, walking the riverwalk, strolling Michigan ave, or exploring Wrigleyville after a Cubs win, you will want to walk about be outside experiencing the city and the weather is never better than in September.
