Of all the weather we have to deal with in Illinois, tornadoes make me the most uneasy. As a child, my family had a close call with a tornado at our cabin in Wisconsin, and the experience has scarred me for life. Needless to say, when I saw this post from WIFR's Chief Meteorologist Mark Henderson, I immediately got the bad kind of butterflies.

Nope. I don't like the sounds of this at all.

if you're someone who has lived in the Midwest over the last 40 years, your likelihood of getting hit by a tornado has dramatically increased than say, it was in 1980...

Our risk is increasing, and our study has kind of shown that through time, and it doesn't matter the year, or even what the calendar says, for that matter. It could be January, February. You can really never let your guard down.

Watch this for more of the "science" stuff because I just can't talk about this anymore without breaking into a cold sweat.
