Illinois and Wisconsin Schools Closed on Wednesday, February 12

A powerful Winter Storm called Iliana is expected to impact the Rockford region, bringing up to 6 inches of snow starting midday on Wednesday (2/12).

According to the National Weather Service, A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for Rockford from 9 am Wednesday (2/12) until 3 am on Thursday (2/13) with slippery roads and hazardous travel conditions expected.

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect for Jo Daviess County in Illinois beginning at 6 am on Wednesday.

Preparing For The Storm

Residents around the Stateline area should stay close to the radio and the station app for updated weather information and closings.

As the storm approaches, local schools are already making decisions to close their campuses on Wednesday, with the Polo School District and Rockford College being among the first to announce cancellations or remote learning days.
