
Illinois and Wisconsin Prepare for Major Winter Storm with 12+ Inches This Week
A Winter Storm that has been dumping a massive amount of snow in the Western states will move into the midwest this week, bringing several rounds of snow.
Major Winter Storm to Impact Illinois and Wisconsin This Week
Over the past couple weeks, we've had some false alarms when it comes to snow and ice in the weather forecast, but this current forecast seems to be more confident with the snowfall totals expected.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Watch has already been issued for northwest and west central Illinois for Wednesday (2/12) with a "90 percent or higher chance for more than 3 inches of snow," and at least a "50 percent chance for amounts over 6 inches," in the watch area.
Winter Storm Iliana to Impact Illinois and Wisconsin This Week
A Winter Storm that the Weather Channel has named Iliana is predicted to bring heavy snow and ice to Illinois and Wisconsin which "will make travel hazardous and bring potential power outages."
Chicagoland could get the "heaviest snowstorm of the season, so far," according to the Weather Channel.
Rockford Region Could Get 8 Inches of Snow on Wednesday
According to the latest Weather Channel forecast for the Rockford area, there's more than a 90 percent chance of snow during the day on Wednesday (2/12) with 3 to 5 inches of accumulation expected.

On Wednesday night, another 1 to 3 inches of accumulating snow is likely with low temperatures in the single digits.
Thursday (2/13) will be Mostly Sunny but brutally cold with a high of 15, and the low on Thursday night is expected to be -6 below and feels like temperatures will hit -10 to -15 overnight.
Second Winter Storm Brings Half of Foot of Snow for Valentine's Day Weekend
The latest extended forecast for the Rockford region is predicting another Winter Storm arriving on Valentine's Day (Friday 2/14), with up to 3 inches of snow accumulation possible.
Saturday (2/15) another 1 to 3 inches of accumulation is possible during the day, with snow showers expected to continue into Saturday night.
Once the snow falls, it's not going anywhere for a while with a deep freeze in the forecast on Sunday, February 16, and Monday, February 17 when the highs both days are expected to be around 12.
According to the Weather Channel's extended forecast, the next day about freezing in Rockford will be Sunday, February 23.
