Illinois Restaurant Called One of America’s Best Places for Pie

I'm not usually a big fan of food-related National Days. You know, National Hot Dog Day? Things like that.

On the other hand, I'm a huge fan of clever stuff like celebrating March 14 every year and calling it Pie Day. Get it? 3.14? Pi?

Anyway, I decided to take a look at some of the best pie in America and I found an article from Insider.com called The 25 Best Pies in America, Ranked.

Most of the list features restaurants with delicious-looking pies on both coasts of America.

States like California, Florida, Nevada, and Arizona are all well represented in the post's 10 best American pies.

However, nestled at #14, there is one restaurant, the only one in the midwest, to be highlighted as a place for a great slice of pie.

Insider says Summer House Santa Monica is the place for great pie in Illinois.

More specifically, the Pumpkin Chiffon Pie is the go-to pie order at Summer House Santa Monica.

Since it's March, you won't be able to get the Pumpkin Chiffon Pie right now, but you can get your taste buds ready when it more than likely reappears on the menu later this year.

That's OK because it seems fans of Summer House Santa Monica rave about the other offerings.

Alexandra A. said, "The Coconut Cream Pie stole my heart immediately."

If diners have any complaints about Summer House Santa Monica, it's usually about the cleanliness of the restaurant and the service.

That said, I couldn't find one negative review regarding the pie. When it comes to Yelp reviewers, that's really saying something.
