Do you remember when you ate your very first Krispy Kreme donut? My first Krispy Kreme was an original glazed in the spring of 1993 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

I grew up in Wisconsin and had never heard of Krispy Kreme until moving to Virginia. I moved out there for a job and my coworkers could not believe I'd never had one, so that's the first place they took me.

We live in a world where the cost of everything is going up at a pretty rapid rate. Reading about this new offer from the king of donuts (my opinion) has me pretty excited. I don't eat donuts very often, so it's time to splurge a little.

From now until May 5th, Krispy Kreme will be matching the cost of a dozen doughnuts to the U.S. average gas price, according to wgntv.com.

“We know everyone could use a little doughnut deflation to sweeten the recent pain at the pump,” the company said on its website.

“So for the next four Wednesdays, we are helping you fill

your tank with Original Glazed ® Dozens by pricing them at the cost of the national average of 1 gallon of regular gas.”

The price of the donuts will change from week to week based on the national average price of a gallon of regular gas in the U.S.

Krispy Kreme will announce the new price for the dozen donuts every Monday on Facebook and Twitter and also on their website.
