Pets are being helped getting adopted by IKEA stores in Illinois.

In my quest to seek out the good things in 2020, here's another highlight. I am a big fan of animals. I've had pets for as long as I can remember. It makes me sad when I see them in a shelter and needing a forever home. If it was up to me, I would take them all in.

Do you remember back in the spring when we were on lockdown? Many shelters actually ran out of animals to adopt because they were in such high demand. That put a big smile on my face.

Of course, the flow of pets needing a home doesn't stop. Once again, there are many available. Fortunately, a huge retail store in Illinois has stepped up to help out.

According to wgntv.com,

"PAWS Chicago, the largest no-kill animal shelter in the Midwest, has partnered with IKEA to display pets in need of a home in Illinois stores this holiday season. Using life-size cutouts of dogs and cats, the “Don’t Forget About Me” campaign hopes to inspire shoppers to imagine how a pet can complete their home. The campaign began on November 27 and will run until Christmas Eve, and will feature over a dozen displays at both IKEA stores in Schaumburg and Bolingbrook."

Every time I go visit my mom in the suburbs I drive by the location in Schaumburg and that place is always packed. I think it's a good store to do it with all the holiday shoppers. They can get some new furniture, Swedish meatballs, and a new pet.
