Law enforcement is searching for a vehicle that reportedly struck and killed a man on Sunday night before fleeing the scene.

Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Not Identified

According to the report from the Rockford Police Department, officers responded around 9:50 pm on Sunday night (7/23) to the 3800 block of Broadway Avenue for a "pedestrian being hit by a vehicle."

When officers arrived on the scene they located a 36-year-old male "in the roadway."

The male victim of the hit-and-run was transported to a Rockford hospital where he was pronounced deceased. At the time this post was updated, no identity of the man who died had been made.

Police are actively looking for a "smaller white SUV' that may be connected to the incident on Broadway.
