When you're looking for a place to work, raise a family, and who knows, send them to one of the best schools in the country, you should look no further than this city.

Not to mention, the school is also in one of the best college towns in America.

The same town where your chance to make money is high and the chance to find a decent job is just as good.

So it's funny when people are scrambling looking for jobs in a massive city like Chicago, why they wouldn't consider Champaign-Urbana?

Because according to Wall Street 24/7 Champaign-Urbana is the fastest growing city in Illinois.

Wait, isn't Champaign-Urbana two different cities? You know, Champaign and Urbana? That's something I've never been able to quite figure out.

Anyway, 24/7 Wall Street says while the population decreased in Illinois by almost 2%, it has actually gone up in Champaign-Urbana in the past 10 years by almost 4%.

Unemployment in Illinois is at 7.1% but not so much in Champaign-Urbana. There it sits at 4.4% while employment growth is at 4.5% compared to 1.4% for the rest of the state.

Even better, household income has gone up in the past decade in Champaign-Urbana. So while the rest of the state averages about $53,081 people who work in Champaign-Urbana make almost $70,000 annually.

Then there's the school. The University of Illinois brings in a ton of people either for academics or an event that is happening on campus.

It's funny, I've never considered living in Champaign-Urbana but you have to admit it really sounds like a great place to do just about everything.
