Illinois Boat Owners, Your Info May Have Been Compromised

If you live in Illinois and own a watercraft vehicle that requires a license, I have some bad news for you: your personal information may have been compromised earlier this year.

Before you panic, here's what you need to know from mystateline.com;

Most of the watercraft owners who they believe have been impacted by this data breach have been sent a letter with information about how to protect their info, but all boat owners in Illinois should probably keep an eye on their credit reports and change all usernames, passwords, and security questions to protect their online account information.

If you fear your info has been compromised, go to consumer.gov/idtheft for more information on steps to take to protect yourself. You can also call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-ID-THEFT.
