Illinois Blood Center Looking for Unvaccinated People

If you aren't vaccinated, for whatever reason, the Rock River Valley Blood Center wants you to stop by. 

When I first saw this email in my inbox, I thought, well that sounds backwards. The blood enter wants unvaccinated blood?

I'm not quite sure scientifically what the COVID vaccine means for blood donors, but the headline: 'Not Vaccinated Yet? Support COVID Prevention Research by Joining Paid Trial,' made me keep reading for sure.

So here's the deal, the Rock River Valley Blood center is looking for individuals that are not vaccinated to be a part of a research study investigating 'the safety and efficacy of the study drug ADG20 for the prevention of symptomatic COVID-19 in adults and adolescents.'

If you click on the link provided in the email, you get taken to a 'Citeline Connect,' website, that spills the rules for this study. 

The main components include that you must be 18 or older and weigh 88 pounds or more. You must not have any COVID vaccines and may not get any for at least six months.

You must also not get any other sort of vaccine in the next month, like the flu shot, but it doesn't say anything in relation to if you've already gotten a flu shot.

You must also be currently healthy and test negative for COVID prior to participating.

You'll get paid to be a part of the study but it does look time consuming.

I'm vaccinated so I'm not eligible, but if you sign up for this I would love to hear about it!
