Have you ever wondered where to get the best brisket sandwich in Illinois? I might've found it.

Sandwiches, they're perfect anytime of day pretty much for any person on Earth. But what makes a sandwich perfect?

It's a tough call really, what's perfect for me might not be perfect for you, but I have a feeling you'll still love this brisket sandwich from Ogle County Brewery in Oregon, Illinois.

Side note: this week is National Italian Beef Sandwich week and I was curious if brisket was considered Italian beef, but I don't think it fits the definition, according to Sensagent:

An Italian beef is a sandwich of thin slices of seasoned roast beef, dripping with meat juices, on a dense, long Italian-style roll, which originated in Chicago where its history dates back at least to the 1930s.[1] The bread itself is often dipped (or double-dipped) into the juices the meat is cooked in, and the sandwich is typically topped off with Chicago-style giardiniera (called "hot") or sautéed, green Italian sweet peppers (called "sweet").

But you know what, even if it's not an Italian Beef sandwich, you can enjoy it this week.

Ogle County Brewery is new to the Stateline, they opened up last year in the middle of the pandemic and have been brewing creative beer and serving brisket sandwiches since then.

What's the name of that brisket sandwich? Taphouse brisket and the menu describes it as: Smoky brisket topped with caramelized onion, queso fundido, & our OCB wing sauce.

This story is about the brisket, because it's phenomenal, but let me tell you... the pizza with the honey glaze, amazing.

Good Day Stateline is taking a trip to Oregon for the entire show airing Sunday, June 6, get more on the brewery and the whole city at 9am on WTVO.
