How to Remove Paint from Carpet; Does This Work?

Yesterday I realized the absolute truth behind "if you want a job done right, do it yourself". Safe to say, I am a bit fit to be tied today.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that I am the best painter on Earth, but dang, there's a thing called a drop cloth, and WE HAD TWO OF THEM LAYING IN THE STUDIO YESTERDAY!

Do you have any fool proof ways to remove paint from carpet? We've heard vinegar works? I guess we'll try that next, because we don't have enough furniture to cover this mess up!
