Hope You Like It HOT! Illinois Is Posed to Break Extreme Heat Records Next Week
For those that don't like the heat, I feel I owe you an apology right now, especially since I don't normally love the heat either.
In case you don't know, last Fall my family moved into a new house that has a pool. My oldest daughter already spends every sunny day swimming in it, but this is how my youngest daughter has been spending her pool days so far...
My Harper girl gets all swim-ready with her mermaid tail and floaties, she gets in for like 5 minutes, and then she gets out with chattering lips because she's "too cold". Here comes the reason why I owe you all an apology...
After watching my daughter sit on the deck watching other kids swimming in the pool I said to my neighbor, "the weather really needs to get hotter so this pool will get warm enough for Harper to stay in more than a few minutes."
Extreme Heat Returns to Illinois Next Week
We've all been hearing that the heat will return to the Rockford area next week, but I didn't realize, (or subconsciously ignored), that forecasters really meant stupid hot heat is on the way.
First, there is Eyewitness News Chief Meteorologist Candice King confirming that next week's heat wave will come with the thing I hate most during the summer months...humidity.
Then there's this proof that Illinois won't be alone in the extreme heat suffering...
And finally, there's this post from WIFR Chief Meteorologist Mark Henderson that made my mouth drop open and want to begin hibernating in my cool, air-conditioned home.
An actual 100+ temperature on Tuesday?!? Well, I guess Harper will be happy with the pool temperature now.
Better get stocked up on extra deodorant now!
