A Rockford man is facing multiple felonies following a reported home invasion and gunshots late on Tuesday night (3/18).

Home Invasion and Arrest

According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, on Tuesday, March 18 around 11:40 pm, RPD officers responded to a residence in the 3300 block of Searles Avenue for a possible home invasion, and shots fired.

SCOPE officers from the Rockford Police Department located a suspect moments later, and he was identified as 33-year-old Delano Hoskins from Rockford who was found in the 1800 block of Remington Road.

Hoskins was taken into custody and transported to the Winnebago County Jail, according to the report.

Search Uncovers Firearms and Drugs

During their investigation, Rockford Police officers searched the residence on Remington Road and located two firearms, one with a defaced serial number and an extended magazine.

67 grams of what is suspected to be cannabis was also found, along with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the press release.

Charges Filed Against 33-Year-Old Rockford Man

After reviewing the case, the Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office has authorized a long list of charges against Hoskins, including:

  • Home Invasion
  • Domestic Battery
  • Child Endangerment (5 Counts)
  • Criminal Damage to Property
  • Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (2 Counts)
  • Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (5 Counts)
  • Possession of a Defaced Firearm
  • Armed Violence
  • Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis
  • No Valid FOID (2 Counts)

Ongoing Investigation

These charges are merely accusations, and Hoskins is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, according to the RPD press release.
