Here’s What Illinois Would Taste Like if it Was a Piece of Chocolate
You know you're good at your job when people refer to you as the "Real-life Willy Wonka."
Not sure if Phillip Ashley Rix has any Oompa Loompas running around helping him with his chocolate but he's might be the most high-profile chocolatier in America.
RIX'S CHOCOLATE WINS AWARDS & OPRAH LOVES HIM TOO
The Phillip Ashley "Savoy," a blue cheese bon bon, recently won the 2021 Good Food Award and is now his most requested flavor. Rix also created the 24-piece Phillip Ashley X Uncle Nearest collection in collaboration with Black-owned Uncle Nearest Premium Aged Whiskey.
Not even sure I'd like it, but my mouth is watering just thinking about a blue cheese bon bon.
Oprah's a fan of Rix's chocolate too. Oprah's magazine designated his Perfect Turtle Gift Set as one of her favorite things of 2020.
TASTE OF AMERICA
Now, Rix is preparing America to sample what each state would taste like if it were a piece of chocolate.
This is certainly not your grandma's box of chocolates. It's kind of a wild idea but each state and the people who live in those states all have their own distinct flavor.
So it's not that crazy when you think about it. Actually, it's kind of genius.
The Taste of America is a chocolate tribute to the diversity that has made this country great. We celebrate you, the people, understanding that we may all be different, but when you look inside, we are all made of chocolate.
As far as Rix's choice for Illinois' he went with Pumpkin, and for Wisconsin, Triple Creme Cheese. If I had to choose between the both of them, I'd go Triple Creme Cheese.
SOUNDS DELICIOUS, WHEN DOES IT COME OUT?
The 50 piece box of chocolate called Taste of America will ship in July for $177.60. If you can stand the incredibly steep price tag, pre-order Taste of America now.
