HBO has created some quality TV over the years. The Soprano's, The Wire, Game of Thrones, to name a few are all huge reasons why the pay cable channel has become a giant in the TV realm.

That's why it should come as no surprise to anyone that they chose White Pines State Park to film a few scenes for an upcoming Jordan Peele (Get Out) and J.J. Abrams (Stars Wars; The Force Awakens) produced show called Lovecraft Country.

HBO films at a variety of stunning locations all over the world and scout every nook and cranny to find the perfect real-life set.

According to location manager, Wes Hagan telling SaukValley.com:

“We chose that area for its topography ... we needed something with an open landscape... we thought it would work well with the show, and that’s why we’re here.”

Lovecraft County was filming in Chicago just recently and now they are headed our way in the next few days.

Portions of U.S. Route 52 and some nearby roads will be closed as well as different parts of White Pines for a majority of the week starting today per SaukValley.com

Lovecraft Country, according to IMDB is the story of "A young African-American travels across the U.S. in the 1950s in search of his missing father." and it stars Jonathan Majors, Courtney B. Vance, and Jurnee Smollett-Bell.
