Illinois Governor: U.S. Flags Should Fly Half-Staff This Weekend
It's been a busy couple of weeks for the individual who is responsible for raising and lowering the U.S. flag at the roundabout on Main Street at Auburn, and it's about to be lowered again.
Flags Already Have Been at Half-Staff In Recent Weeks
If it seems like American flags were lowered just last week, you're right. Just before 9/11, there was an order from Governor Pritzker to lower flags for the Illinois Flag Display Act, and then through September 15 a Chicago Fire Department Lieutenant was honored after he died.

Now there's another order from Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker to have flags lowered beginning this Thursday (9/20).
Flags Will Be at Half-Staff This Upcoming Weekend
According to a press release from the Governor's office to honor Illinois' fallen, all persons or "entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act are to fly the flags at half-staff in honor and remembrance of United States Marine Captain Eleanor “Ellie” LeBeau Cooke who is from Belleville, Illinois.
