Accidents happen, but sometimes they're just too funny to leave it be.

Scrolling around on Rockford Craigslist on Friday night, (sad, right?) I landed on this gem of a Christmas decoration:

Say what? Underneath the title, the description does mention that the "reef" is in excellent condition and that it indeed "does hang."

Phew, that's good. The last thing I want around my house during the holiday season is a reef that doesn't hang.

After the initial laugh, I thought to myself, "is 'reef' misspelled on purpose? Like a code or something?" Is it a reference to reefer or perhaps the Great Barrier Reef?

Well, I'll tell ya, I was tickled. I thought it was so funny I decided to post that same photo on Reddit under r/boneappletea, a place where some of the most hilarious malapropism's on the internet are shared. A malapropism by definition is a "mistaken use of a word in place of a similar-sounding one, often with unintentionally amusing effect, as in, for example, “dance a flamingo ” (instead of flamenco )." according to dictionary.com.

Here's the funniest part. My post was kicked back to me. Why? Because according to Reddit the "post contains one of those phrases or words that gets submitted and resubmitted a lot. This includes Wreath/Reef and variants of Least Knobby Dot."

After that, I was over the reef/wreath debate. I had to move on and find the person who believes Feliz Navidad is actually Least Knobby Dot?"
