Illinois City Offers Free Fireworks Show Twice A Week All Summer
Fireworks aren't just for the 4th of July anymore, you can see them all summer long for free in Chicago.
Fireworks Aren't Just For The 4th Of July Anymore
Back when I was a kid, there weren't many chances to see fireworks in person. I basically just remember the 4th of July unless it was a very special occasion. If you missed them, then you had to wait a whole year for the next chance.
Now, it seems we have them for every holiday, festival, and celebration. Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy about that fact. Whenever I can check out some fireworks, it puts a smile on my face.
During the summer, if you're in the mood for fireworks, you can usually find some in and around Illinois and Wisconsin. No more worrying about missing them because the next opportunity is coming soon.
Watching Fireworks In A Special Place
Now, that there are more chances to witness a good old fashion fireworks show, we can get a little pickier about where we see them. No more hanging out on an old blanket in a bug-infested field.
One of my favorite places of all time to watch fireworks is along Lake Michigan in Chicago. My family used to go to Taste of Chicago every year to see them. Unfortunately, they stopped doing it a few years ago because of the rising costs.
Top Attraction In Chicago Hosts Fireworks
If you miss those days too, another location in the Windy City has picked up the slack, Navy Pier. That is one of my favorite places to visit in Chicago. Then, throw some free fireworks on top of that, I'm all in.
