10 Enjoyable Winter Activities in Wisconsin That Cost Zero Dollars
When you live and play in a state that consistently ranks in the top 5 for most brutal winter weather in the United States, you not only have to embrace the cold but find ways to have fun in those freezing temps.
If you're looking for something to do and not add stress to your budget, Wisconsin offers never-ending adventures and activities that cost you absolutely nothing, except for the fuel that will be used to travel there.
But if you fill up your tank in America's Dairyland, the price per gallon will be significantly less than in border states.
Now it's time to get out into Wisconsin WInter and work on my wind tan, which sounds better than windburn, and check a few enjoyable activities off my list.
Here are 10 of my favorite winter activities up in Wisconsin that I won't need to pull out my debit card for, because they're absolutely free:
Stroll through Milwaukee Public Market and try free samples
Drop a line in Boom Lake, the ice fishing capital of the world
Build a Snowman at Cathedral Square Park in Milwaukee
Ice Skating at Tenny Park in Madison
Visit UW Madison Arboretum for some winter birdwatching
Get your friends, family, or co-workers together for a snowball fight at Bascom Hill
Go fast down the sledding hill at Elver Park
Talk a walk or hike along the Elroy-Sparta State Trail
Visit the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
Learn something about history with a tour of the Wisconsin State Capitol
Put on something warm and head out to see what Wisconsin has to offer during our favorite season!
