Kimberla Lawson Roby is a well known name in the Stateline. She is from this area, and has written several of her best-selling books while living in Belvidere.

I have read several of Roby's books, and I love that they all deal with real life issues and the complexities that go along with them. Sadly though, I have not read any of the books from her Reverend Curtis Black series. That will change today, but not just because the news has broke that this series will soon be coming to television, but because they sound SO dang good!

According to the Rockford Register Star;

The Rev. Curtis Black books have been acquired by Reel World Management to be adapted into a television series that will either appear on a network or on a streaming service. Roby will serve as executive producer on the show. Her books follow Rev. Black, a prominent married pastor in his community who finds himself throughout the series consumed with money, power and women.

This exciting announcement comes just ahead of the release of Roby's 15th, and final book in the Rev. Curtis Black series, which officially hits shelves tomorrow, July 31.

Kimberla Lawson Roby will be celebrating the release of 'Better Late Than Never' with a book signing tomorrow at Barnes & Noble at the CherryVale Mall starting at 7 p.m. Make sure to stop by, pick up a copy of her new book, and congratulate her on this awesome news! Maybe we can get Kimberla to tell us which network or television streaming service we need to subscribing to ahead of time so we can watch it?
