Fairdale Tornado Survivors Gather for ‘Welcome Home’ Celebration [WATCH]

Members of the Fairdale community gathered this past weekend to celebrate the first wave of families moving back into their homes after they were ripped apart by April's devastating tornado. Village of Kirkland Mayor, Les Bellah, said it best in this WIFR video; "To a lot of people it's been five short months, to you people it's been the longest five months of your lives."

 

Personally, I have been in awe of the Fairdale community's strength and resilience ever since the first few hours after the tornado struck. They came together and got closer in the face of extreme destruction, loss, and sadness, and are determined to remain that way. Bravo, Fairdale and God bless.
