Illinois is really an interesting state.

Our state has eleven things that are wonderful and crazy, that no other state has! One of those places is right here in Rockford!

According to Yahoo Travel, our state is interesting in the fact that you can experience so many different cultures and time periods in just a matter a few hours of travel.

Rockford even made the list of wonderful and strange places you wouldn't expect to see in Illinois but you need to go.

What was it?  Anderson Japanese Gardens of course. Making the list due to the fact that nestled right here in Rockford is a true Japanese designs and landscaped gardens.

Or the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, that houses over 1,500 species of marine animals.

Have you ever been to the Cahokia Mounds in Collinsville? There you can view a prehistoric Native American settlement, state historic site and UNESCO World Heritage site. Cahokia is the largest pre-Columbian site of its kind north of Mexico and it's right here in Illinois.

When I read through the list, I've been to or have seen all of those places except for three.

1. The Choo Choo restaurant in Des Plaines, which sounds fun to see.

2. The International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago. I never knew there was a museum for this?

3. Hardy's Reindeer Ranch in Rantoul.

Well I guess I better start planning some fun summer trips to see these things.
