When was the last time you went to the doctor? Did they say they were going to weigh you? Did you know you could say no thank you? You can.

Once up on a time getting on a scale didn't bother me. Then I turned 12, and my scale life has never been the same.

From working out three times a day just to see the number go down after the third workout to berating myself after I hadn't been on the scale for a while and seeing the three number read much higher than I expected.

The scale and I are not friends.

But, in the last five or so years, we've become very civil. So much that I don't think about the scale at all much and the numbers that the scale would probably read if I stepped on it are not important to me.

Until I all of the sudden have a ton of different doctor appointments and they keep wanting to weigh me.

Here's the thing. I understand there are medical reasons why you may need to know how much a patient weighs. But you do not need to step on a scale every time you meet a new doctor or need a consultation.

While everyone might not understand the stress of scale, I know I'm not the only one out there who feels anxiety when it's 4pm and someone wants to weigh you, right after you downed a huge salad or burger or ginormous apple before your appointment.

If you don't see the need for this, THAT'S AWESOME. I wish I didn't have so much anxiety associated with scales, but I do, and I also know about how much I weigh and can give an informed guess to a nurse instead of having to see if my weight has gone up five lbs from one appointment to another.
