Dolly Parton and Jennifer Nettles graced The Voice stage Tuesday evening (Nov. 29) for a special performance of Parton's song "Circle of Love." The track is featured in Parton's upcoming NBC holiday special, Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, as well as Nettles' recent Christmas album, To Celebrate Christmas.

Donned all in white, Parton and Nettles stood center stage as the Top 10 contestants on The Voice, also dressed in white, stood behind them and sang along to the powerful tune about love and the birth of Jesus. While Parton and Nettles alternated on singing the verses alone, each of the 10 contestants assisted on harmonies throughout the chorus.

In a press event in Nashville discussing her holiday film, Parton revealed that "Circle of Love" is a "really important song" in the movie. She also expressed her gratitude to Nettles for asking to cover it on her holiday record.

"As a songwriter I'm always proud for anybody to sing my songs," Parton told a group of journalists. Meanwhile, Nettles shared her excitement to be singing a song from the legendary Parton.

"To get to sing a song written by Dolly Parton is a huge honor for me," Nettles tells Taste of Country. "I'm a fan of hers. Because this song is specifically connected with the movie, I think it has a more special resonance with me and I have a deeper connection to it in that way. I get to sing a snippet of it in the movie as the character Avie Lee. I fell in love with it that way and was honored when she said yes I could put it on my record."

Nettles plays the role of Avie Lee Parton, Dolly's mom, in the film. Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love will air on Wednesday (Nov. 30) on NBC at 8PM CT.
