Stories like this are the exact reason why I never answer my phone if I do not know the number, and you should probably start doing the same. Life is so much simpler when you don't have to waste time with dirty, annoying scammers.

Anywho, WGN TV is reporting that the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office has released a statement warning residents not to fall for calls from a person claiming to be from the Sheriff's Office and saying that they owe a fee for missing a recent jury duty assignment.

The statement says the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office received several different reports of these calls on Friday and that "officers never call residents soliciting money or asking for fees for missed jury duty. It says all such calls should be considered fraudulent. And it encourages anyone receiving one to call the sheriff’s office or other local law enforcement."
