Crappy Accident Ties Up I-39 For An Hour

I'll start off by letting you know there were no serious injuries in an accident that brought I-39 to a crawl on Monday afternoon. And, for commuters, traveling along highway stunk, literally.

A sleeping trailer for a traveling carnival was attempting to pass a semi when it began to swerve back-and-forth, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department (via WREX). The sleeper trailer never regained control and tipped, that's when two human waste containers burst. Again, only minor injuries were reported.

As I try to recreate this scenario in my head all I see is a trailer tipping and a poo explosion hitting nearby vehicles. Imagine being at a dead stop within a few feet of this accident. Even worse, what if someone had their windows down, top down, or was driving a doorless topless jeep at the moment of impact?
