Speeds of up to 100 miles per hour in a mid-morning police chase.

The Rockford Register Star is reporting that on Sunday morning a number of police departments pursued a vehicle through several counties. The chase resulted in speeds of up to 100 miles per hour.

Police were chasing a a green 2000 Buick. The vehicle traveled eastbound on U.S. 20 and turned south on I-39.

The newspaper reports that the the driver was armed. The chase began about 9:30 a.m. in Stephenson County.

The chase ended at 10:17 a.m. when the vehicle drove into a ditch along the side of the road.

The male driver, who eventually surrendered and has not been identified yet.
