Costco Updating Coronavirus Mask Policy Starting November 16
Some coronavirus-related changes are coming to Costco beginning next week. It's not a big change considering the megastore has had a face mask policy in place for a while now but there's changing a few safety measures. Costco is also reminding customers of their delivery options for specific shoppers.
Costco jumped on face mask requirements almost immediately when this pandemic began but, like many other stores, there were customers who said they could not wear masks for medical reasons. As of Monday, November 16, that reason will not be valid inside all Costco stores. No, Costco is not requiring those customers to wear a face mask to enter their stores. Instead, they will be required to wear a face shield in order to enter the buildings, according to USA Today. Others will be required to wear a mask except for children 2-years-old and younger.
If a member has a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask, they must wear a face shield at Costco.
Costco's CEO acknowledged the inconvenience of masks in an interview with USA Today but followed with this.
Our goal is to continue to provide a safe shopping environment for our members and guests, and to provide a safe work environment for our employees.
If face shields and masks are absolutely not an option, some members may be able to take advantage of Costco's delivery services.
