Kids having lemonade stands is a common sight when it's warm in Illinois, but a kid hosting a compliment stand? That's something I wish we would see a lot more of!

My two daughters have never set up a lemonade stand before, but they did set up several handmade bracelet selling stores this summer. At $5 a pop, they would sell a few bracelets each time the store "opened" (we're thankful for sweet neighbors), but I wonder how many customers they would have had if they were handing out compliments instead.

Sycamore Boy Goes Viral for 'Compliment Stand'

One of the biggest things my husband and I remind our girls about constantly is the importance of being kind. Although, when you live in a world full of unhappy and nasty people, this isn't always easy to do.

We have always told our girls making someone smile can change a person's entire day, and what a 9-year-old boy from Sycamore did this summer proves it, one thousand percent.

According to CBS Sunday Morning, Ethan Wargo of Sycamore was reading a Dog Man book that featured characters setting up an "insult stand" when inspiration hit him, but not in the way you would think.

In July Ethan set up his first "Compliment Stand", and to no surprise, it was a huge hit.

As a mom, I love this, and I can only imagine how proud Ethan's parents must be! Perhaps this will inspire my children to set up a "compliment stand" this weekend.
