Clinton EMT Absolutely Deserves To Be This Week’s Hometown Hero
This week's Hometown Hero is Tanya Miller of Clinton, Wisconsin. She is undoubtedly one of the most selfless individuals who has been nominated for this. She has a full plate between saving lives as an EMT with Clinton Fire Protection District, she helps within her community in various ways, homeschools her kids, and she's a great mom.
Here is the nomination email we received from her daughter, Vanessa.
My name is Vanessa, I am 19 from Clinton, WI. I would like to nominate, Tonya, my stepmom, who took me and my sister in after my mom walked out of our lives. She has always guided us and treated us as her own for these past 11 years. Tonya is a local EMT here in our small town, a wife, a busy mom to 4 of us and gives her all to our family as well as her community. Now that COVID has hit hard where we live, she works extra hard for both our community (picking up extra shifts) and our family with added responsibilities like homeschooling my siblings all while hoping she doesn’t bring COVID home to us. She has always been selfless to everyone around us, including adopting families at Christmas, (trying to teach us the importance of kindness and helping others) no matter what our financial status may be at the time. She does all of this while keeping calm and never showing weakness or the stress that I know she must feel. She is a true hero and the woman I look up to and I hope to be as strong as she is as I grow into my adult role as a future police officer.
As a Q98.5 Hometown Hero, Tonya will receive a $100 Amazon gift card thanks to Gustafson's Furniture & Mattress. Although we're certain she won't spend it on herself, whatever she uses it for will bring joy to someone, and that's what life is all about.
