If you missed the Blue Angels in Rockford at Airfest, or if you want to see them again, they are returning as the headliner in the 2015 Chicago Air and Water Show downtown along the lakefront this weekend. Here are the details. 

 

According to The Chicago Tribune, of the 17 performers (5 military and 11 civilian) only one is new: The Breitling Jet Team from France. The seven L-39 C Albatros jets are making their first tour of the U.S. and will fly in daring formations and speeds topping 500 mph.

  • Where: North Avenue Beach
  • Admission: Free
  • Parking: Millennium Garages, with a free shuttle to and from North Avenue Beach; $35 for the day.

The lakefront from North Avenue to Navy Pier. North Avenue Beach is air show central. The pedestrian access points at Lake Shore Drive; the parks and playing fields are great vantage points and are less crowded.
