Can You Solve This School Bus Puzzle?

You can tell it's been a long time since I rode a school bus, because I was completely stumped by this puzzle that kids can figure out in a second. Can you figure it out?

Here's the picture provided by National Geographic, and the question is simple: From this picture, can you tell what direction the bus is going? Left or right?

To be fair, the answer is different if you are driving in Europe. Consider that a clue, but let's answer it like the bus is actually being driven here in the United States.
