Bulls Great Jerry Sloan Has Passed Away
One of the all-time great Chicago Bull, Jerry Sloan, has passed away at the age of 78.
CNN - Sloan died on Friday morning due to complications from Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia, according to a statement from the Utah Jazz.
"Jerry Sloan will always be synonymous with the Utah Jazz. He will forever be a part of the Utah Jazz organization and we join his family, friends and fans in mourning his loss. We are so thankful for what he accomplished here in Utah and the decades of dedication, loyalty and tenacity he brought to our franchise," the statement read.
While most recently, Jerry Sloan is associated with the Utah Jazz and he should, considering he spent all but three years of his coaching career in Salt Lake City. Sloan was the third-winningest head coach of all-time.
Those three years of head coaching not with the Jazz were with the team he starred as a player, the Chicago Bulls.
Jerry Sloan's 4 is one of four retired numbers for the Chicago Bulls. The other three are Bob Love (10), Michael Jordan (23), and Scottie Pippen (33). That's pretty good company.
